J. Edward Buxton, CCIM, BIC

J. Edward Buxton, CCIM joined Palmetto Commercial Properties in 2003 after a 12-year career at General Engineering Laboratories, Inc., where he focused on the complexities of developing properties within South Carolina’s coastal zone. This experience was integral in laying the foundation for the career in commercial real estate where he specializes in sales and leasing of office, retail, industrial, multifamily, land and investment properties. Buxton obtained the coveted Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2009 and won the CoStar Powerbroker Award in 2011, 2012 and 2014. In 2015, he and his two business partners purchased Palmetto Commercial Properties, LLC where he currently serves as the Managing Member and Broker-In Charge supervising 17 agents. In addition to serving on multiple national, state, and local industry boards, Buxton was awarded the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors (CTAR) Commercial Realtor of the Year Award for 2018, the CTAR 2018 Commercial Circle Realtor of Distinction Award, and the National Association of Realtors Omega Tau Rho Award in 2019 for the South Carolina Association of Realtors.

Buxton is a Charleston native who graduated from Porter-Gaud School in 1985 and holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of South Carolina. Outside of work, Buxton coached high school football for 15 years and won 5 state championships. He and his wife are active members of Grace Episcopal Church. They have three children and currently reside in the West Ashley area of Charleston, SC.
